THE LITAS
ABOUT
The Litas is “a network for rebellious, moto-obsessed, & moto curious womxn”. This project involved updating The Lita's app called Collective, which aims to connect and support women riders. Through conversations and resources, riders can engage with each other and find support within the community. I redesigned some of the app's features and added new ones based on feedback from experienced riders, non-riders, and city founders.

DESIGN SYSTEM
The app's design system stands out from the typical UI practices found in most apps. Its unique design makes it more special for our community of users, as it was made specifically for them. We chose neutral fonts and colors to ensure inclusivity for all types of users, rather than designing for just one type.
USER PERSONAS
We gathered information from non-riders, riders of all levels, and city founders from around the world to find out what users want to see more of in the app, why they use the app, and what features could be improved. Based on the data collected, it was found that users are interested in connecting and learning from other womxn, as well as sharing and gaining confidence from others.

MOTIVATIONS
ONBOARDING
When opening the app, a splash screen will appear giving the user the option to either log in or join Collective. The onboarding screens contain important information that can help the user understand the inclusivity of this community. Users can provide their profile information, join suggested nearby cities, participate in interest collectives, and view community guidelines.
HOME TAB
The Home screen functions similarly to Instagram, providing a platform for users to share images and communicate with friends. You can create posts, check notifications and messages, and engage with city and interest collectives that you belong to. By selecting a location, users can join a city collective that shares posts and events related to womxn's interests in their area. Interest collectives are centered around various moto-topics that users can join to ask questions or gain knowledge about.
NOTIFICATIONS & MESSAGING
HOME TAB
In order to increase user engagement and encourage conversations, the app has been updated with notification and messaging features. These notifications are triggered by liked posts and comments, and users will receive invitations to attend events, join pick-up rides, or participate in other collectives.
DISCOVER TAB
One popular feature that users requested for the app was the ability to participate in events and rides, which is exactly what the discover tab is designed for. Through this tab, you can easily find pick-up rides and riders in your area, as well as learn about suggested events. Detailed information is available for both pick-up rides and events, allowing users to learn more about each one. Additionally, the discover tab includes rider profiles, which can be used to connect with other users and view their city collective details.
EVENTS & RIDES
DISCOVER TAB
The app's calendar feature is designed to give you a clear overview of your RSVP’d events and saved events for consideration. You can create your own events or pick up rides, while official Lita-held events or rides are indicated by The Litas skull logo, which is made by our city founders.
PROFILE TAB
Users have the freedom to choose how much of their profile information they want to share with the public. This information is meant to help users find common interests and get to know each other better. You can view a user's city, location, riding experience, bike collection, and posts on their profile. All profile information and settings can be accessed through the user's account settings.
